Profile

Marie-Pier represents clients in the public, non-profit and private sectors, with a particular expertise in federally-regulated employers. She has extensive experience in unionized workplaces and provides advice and support to employers for bargaining, collective agreement drafting and interpretation, and arbitrations. Marie-Pier further assists clients with employment and human rights matters, and conducts independent workplace investigations of complaints received by clients. Marie-Pier also retains a robust practice in administrative law, representing clients in statutory appeals and judicial reviews before the courts.

Prior to joining the firm, Marie-Pier was a partner at a large regional firm and practiced in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut for over seven years, where she assisted First Nations, Inuit and Métis clients with their labour, employment and administrative law needs. Marie-Pier also clerked at the Federal Court of Canada and coordinated a refugee law clinic for migrant seniors in Montréal. She began her legal career as an articling student and volunteer counsel at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, where she appeared before the United Nations Dispute Tribunal and the United Nations Appeals Tribunal. Her wide range of experiences makes her an ideal advocate in situations requiring a culturally-sensitive approach and creative solutions.

Marie-Pier practices law in French and in English. She is the President of the Association des avocats hors-Québec (AHQ)  and a member of the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Alberta (AJEFA).
