On August 6, 2021, Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry announced regional-specific restrictions for the Central Okanagan region of British Columbia, due to the transmission of COVID-19 in that region.
These restrictions are in addition to the indoor public mask mandate which was put in place last week for the Central Okanagan region. The regional restrictions announced today include:
Orders Effective Monday, August 9th
- Organized outdoor and indoor gatherings will be limited to a maximum of 50 people (indoor must be seated)
Orders Effective Immediately
- Nightclubs and bars will be closed
- Casinos will remain open, but restaurant guidance applies to their operation
- Liquor service at restaurants will end at 10 PM, and a maximum of six people will be allowed to be seated at the same table
- High intensity indoor fitness classes will be closed
- Vacation rentals/houseboats will only be permitted to host up to 5 visitors in addition to occupants
Additional Guidance and Recommendations
The Provincial Health Officer also strongly recommended that any non-essential travel to the Central Okanagan Region be postponed.
