Upcoming Federal Economic Relief in Response to COVID-19

Prime Minister Trudeau indicated in his speech on March 17, 2020, that the House of Commons is expected to reconvene to handle the emergency measures on the COVID-19 outbreak.

Among the issues to be addressed, Trudeau noted that the government is planning changes to upcoming tax deadlines with a focus on providing flexibility for businesses and taxpayers. These additional measures that are to be announced imminently, would be in addition to the previous $1 Billion health and economic response package that include relaxing employment insurance rules.
