Jessica acts as Counsel in our Toronto office. She advises and represents employers in a broad range of labour and employment matters, including labour board proceedings, arbitration, mediation, collective bargaining (including central and local bargaining in the education sector), employment litigation, judicial reviews, and human rights proceedings.
Jessica has represented federally and provincially regulated employers in both the private and public sectors before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (including the Divisional Court), the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, and boards of arbitration, as well as in private dispute resolution proceedings. Jessica has particular expertise in the education sector, where she represents school boards and school board employers’ associations at arbitration and before the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
She also advises employers on a broad range of workplace matters, including hiring, discipline, policy and contract drafting and implementation, executive and equity compensation, accommodation and disability management, mass terminations, organizational change, collective agreement interpretation, and workplace violence and harassment. Jessica also provides training to clients on a wide range of workplace issues and advises on labour and employment matters arising from mergers and acquisitions.
Jessica holds a Juris Doctor from Western University, a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a specialization in Human Resources Management, from the University of Waterloo. Before entering the legal profession, Jessica worked in human resources management.
