Profile

Michel is an articling student and a recent graduate of the Juris Doctor program at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. He joined Mathews Dinsdale as a summer student in our Toronto office.

During law school, Michel took every opportunity to develop his advocacy skills. In his second year, he was selected to compete in the Arnup Cup Trial Advocacy Competition. The following year, he returned as a student coach for the Arnup Cup and competed in the Laskin Moot Court Competition in Administrative and Constitutional Law. He was also a student caseworker in the University’s Downtown Legal Services, where he represented clients accused of criminal or academic offences.

Prior to obtaining his law degree, Michel obtained his Bachelor of Arts Honours from Carleton University, where he graduated with high distinction and was awarded the Senate Medal for Outstanding Academic Achievement. During that time, he discovered his interest in workplace law and wrote his honours thesis in labour law.

In his spare time, Michel enjoys experimenting with recipes and trying different coffees at home or in cafes. He is also an enthusiast of watches, all things aviation, and jazz music.
