Implementation of Smoke Free Ontario Act Delayed

As outlined in our earlier In a Flash article, Changes to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, 2017 was due to come into force to repeal and replace the Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2015 and the Smoke-Free Ontario Act on July 1, 2018. The provincial government has announced that this coming into force date has been postponed on an indefinite basis to provide the government with the opportunity to reassess the regulation of vaping under the new legislation. As a result, the Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2015 and the current Smoke-Free Ontario Act remain in effect.
