Province of Alberta and Police Join Forces for Workplace Safety on National Day of Mourning

The Province of Alberta and police join forces for workplace safety as per the press release from the Minister of Labour this morning. Serious workplace incidents will be investigated, and criminal charges considered, in accordance with the now signed Westray Memorandum of Understanding.
To date there have been no criminal prosecutions under the Criminal Code in Alberta. That likely will soon change. This announcement was made on the National Day of Mourning, which is also the 25th anniversary of the Westray Mine Disaster.
