Minimum Wage in British Columbia to Increase

The government of British Columbia has announced the current minimum wage of $10.85 an hour will be raised by 50 cents to $11.35 an hour on September 15, 2017. This increase is 10 cents per hour greater than was anticipated, given in September of 2016, the province committed to increasing the minimum wage to $11.25 by 2017.
The minimum wage for liquor servers, currently $9.60, will be increased by the same amount, bringing it to $10.10 as of September 15, 2017.
